Dear Friends of the Auxiliary,

This spring, we are offering an exciting schedule of events and programs for the members of the Yale New Haven Hospital Auxiliary. The Board of Managers and its Committees have been engaged in exploring new ideas and activities which will help strengthen our future endeavors and provide new and exciting opportunities for all to enjoy. This past August, the Auxiliary sponsored a retreat for its Board and Committee members. As a result of that discussion, we have implemented some of the key suggestions designed to increase our visibility and attract new members. We also hope to better understand and enhance the Auxiliary’s perception with both internal and external audiences.

The Auxiliary has strengthened its promotional support for two widely recognized Hospital events, Closer to Free and Looking Forward. By doing so, we hope to increase awareness of and involvement by the Auxiliary. As Board members, we will be easily recognized by wearing our specially designed shirts with the Auxiliary logo.

We continue to support two important Yale New Haven Hospital programs with payments toward our $1,000,000 pledge for the Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the new Center for Musculoskeletal Care on the Saint Raphael campus.

Our committees are engaged in activities which are stimulating awareness and promoting success. New ideas for the Thrift Shop and Art Corridor have resulted in a resurgence of interest and visibility. Health Education has affiliated with the Hospital’s Care Card Program. Our two retail establishments, The Glass Door and Atrium Gift Shops, have expanded their markets with online and internal promotions to help reach their goals. Membership and Special Events are offering fun and entertaining options to engage our members.

We welcome and encourage you to join us during this exciting time. Join a committee and/or attend an event. We realize that time is a precious commodity, but there is something for everyone. Find an activity that fits into your schedule. Diversity, in culture and interaction, is one way by which we hope to reach our goals. Please call our office at 203-688-5717 or online at The Auxiliary looks forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,
