Rita Amendola, APRN is currently a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner at NEMG Family Medicine in Guilford, CT. She is also in a leadership role as a Senior Consultant for Care Signature for the Yale New Haven Health System. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Connecticut College with a double major in Behavioral Neuroscience and Psychology. She completed an Honors Thesis studying the connection between Exercise and Stress Biomarkers. She was also the Captain of NCAA Women’s Basketball Team for her junior and senior year. After Connecticut College, she was a Senior Study Coordinator at Joslin Diabetes Center on research investigating the connection between diabetes and kidney disease.After working in diabetes research, she graduated with Distinction from Boston College with a Masters in Nursing. She was recognized for Clinical Excellence in Specialty Concentration by faculty and awarded Patricia A. Ibert Scholars Award as vote for contribution in field of Nursing as voted by peers. Dedicated to lifelong learning, she has contributed her education by becoming board certified in Lifestyle Medicine as well as becoming a Physician Builder by Epic. Additionally, she has completed the Emerging Leader program and Advanced Emerging Leader program at the Yale School of Management.Rita also served Advanced Practice Executive Council for Yale New Haven Health System. Additionally, she has severed as Adjunct Faculty at Quinnipiac University School of Medicine, teaching Foundation of Clinical Skills to first year medical students. Outside of work, Rita enjoys spending time being active and outdoors with her husband and son.
