Update regarding the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) Vaccine:

Following the recommendations of the FDA, CDC and the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health, Yale New Haven Health has paused using the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) COVID-19 vaccine. We have currently substituted Johnson & Johnson with either Pfizer or Moderna at our vaccine sites. Please access our online calendar to review current schedule of COVID-19 vaccines.

If you were previously scheduled to receive Johnson & Johnson and you do not wish to be vaccinated with Pfizer or Moderna, you may cancel your appointment through MyChart or via our call center at 833-ASK-YNHH (833-275-9644).

Yale New Haven Health System and our government agencies all take vaccine safety extremely seriously. Although the reported complications are extremely rare, we will await the results of the CDC’s investigation over the next few days before proceeding with further use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

We offer the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines which are approved by the U.S. FDA for emergency use.

Each of our COVID-19 vaccine sites provides doses from a single manufacturer (Moderna or Pfizer) on a given day. The vaccine you will receive is based on the site and day of the appointment you book. To understand which manufacturers vaccine will be provided each day at a location, please see this chart.

Please note, we do not recommend waiting for one particular vaccine. If you are eligible to receive a vaccination, we encourage you to get whichever vaccine is available to you since all of the approved vaccines will protect against severe COVID-19.
