Patient Information

If you have an upcoming appointment, you will be notified of the latest information on hours of operation and visitor guidelines. Many offices are also offering telehealth services in addition to in-person visits at this time. We want to make sure you receive the care you need, when you need it.

If you think you have COVID-19 symptoms, call your doctor or healthcare facility before visiting.

Questions about COVID-19? Call 833-ASK-YNHH (833-275-9644).

Preparing For Your Appointment

With extra precautions in place to ensure patient and visitor safety, stay up to date with our latest protocols. At our hospitals, all patients and visitors are required to wear masks. We ask about symptoms and check their temperatures at the door.

Surgeries and Procedures

Our operating rooms and procedural areas meet the most stringent guidelines for cleanliness and safety. If you have a scheduled procedure, our teams will walk you through new, easy processes for pre-testing, arrival and discharge. These include using mobile device check-in and reduced on-site paperwork.

If you are admitted to the hospital or have an upcoming surgery or a procedure requiring general anesthesia, you will receive a COVID-19 test. We have established COVID-19 testing for asymptomatic and symptomatic patients at several locations throughout Connecticut and Westerly, RI.

Ambulatory

We offer a number of services at our ambulatory locations. Exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned after each patient. And our radiology equipment is cleaned according to the strictest standards after each patient.

Face Coverings

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention notes that masking is a critical public health tool for preventing spread of COVID-19. To the extent possible, patients and visitors must wear a health system approved mask while at any of Yale New Haven Health’s hospitals, outpatient centers, ambulatory sites or clinics. Masks are to cover both the nose and mouth. Patients and visitors who arrive with a cloth mask, gaiter, bandana or mask with exhalation valves will be provided a health system approved face mask. Learn more about face masks from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
