Chris O’Connor

Christopher M. O’Connor is Chief Executive Officer & President of Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS), the largest and most comprehensive healthcare system in Connecticut and recognized nationally for advanced clinical care. Prior to his role as CEO, Mr. O’Connor first served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer when he joined the Yale New Haven Health System in 2012. He was appointed President of YNHHS in 2020, where he was responsible for the operations of the System.

Mr. O’Connor previously served as President and CEO of the Saint Raphael Healthcare System and the Hospital of Saint Raphael, serving in that position until the successful affiliation with Yale New Haven Hospital, September, 2012. Previous roles included serving as President of Caritas St. Elizabeth Medical Center, the 340-bed flagship of the six-hospital system affiliated with the Archdiocese of Boston and Tufts School of Medicine, and as Vice President of Clinical Operations for the Ochsner Health System in New Orleans.

Mr. O’Connor is a member of a number of boards, including serving as chair of the Connecticut Hospital Association (CHA). He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). Mr. O’Connor received his Masters in Health Services Administration from George Washington University in 1996 and his Bachelor of Arts, Economics from George Washington University in 1993.

Marna Borgstrom

Marna Borgstrom has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Yale New Haven Health and Yale New Haven Hospital since 2005. YNHHS is the largest health system in the region. Borgstrom began her career at Yale New Haven Hospital over 40 years ago and served in a variety of staff and operational roles prior to her current position.  

Borgstrom chairs the board of the Healthcare Institute and is the past chair of the Coalition to Protect America’s Healthcare and Vizient, a Dallas, Texas-based health care company. She serves on several other boards including the American Hospital Association, the Connecticut Hospital Association and New Haven Promise. She is also a director of Cryolife in Atlanta, Georgia.

Borgstrom has been recognized for her commitment to community service and the health care field with numerous awards. She also holds five honorary doctorate degrees. 

Borgstrom received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and was awarded a master’s degree in Public Health by the Yale University School of Epidemiology and Public Health.

Carolyn (Lyn) Salsgiver was born and raised in Massachusetts. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Dartmouth College and an MBA in Healthcare Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Her first job was with General Mills where she learned business and product management.  

She completed an administrative fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital. She then progressed through various roles in health system development, strategic planning, marketing, operations and community health improvement. In her community health improvement role, she helped open the first free pharmacy in Connecticut. She is currently responsible for leading efforts to address health inequities in the community and improve the longer-term health outcomes in the health system’s regions, including development of an anchor mission strategy for the health system.  

Outside of her professional role, Lyn enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, hiking and traveling.

Theresa-Zinck Lederer, MPH, CPMSM, CPCS

Theresa Zinck-Lederer was born and raised in Connecticut. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University and master’s degree in Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy and Administration from the Yale University School of Epidemiology & Public Health.

She completed her administrative fellowship training which included supporting hospital quality improvement projects. One such project involved the evaluation of first case start times in the operating rooms. She also supported strategic planning and marketing initiatives. In the latter part of the fellowship, Zinck-Lederer worked with the medical staff and administrative leadership to establish a Yale New Haven Hospital medical staff independent physician group.

Zinck-Lederer has continued her career at Yale New Haven Hospital and, subsequently, Yale New Haven Health to support the administrative processes related to physicians, the medical staff and each of the health system’s Chief Medical Officers. Her current focus is on the standardization of operations and foundational documents including privileging and credentialing, medical staff bylaws and medical staff policies.

 

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family and two Yorkshire terriers, walking and going to the beach.  

 

Marie-Helene Gratton, MBA, MPH

Marie-Helene Gratton was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. She received her undergraduate degree in Finance from McGill University and graduate degrees in Business Administration and Public Health from Yale University.

She began her career at Yale New Haven Hospital in 2007 as an Administrative Fellow and has collaborated on a number of strategic projects during her tenure, including establishment of a transfer center (Y-Access), creation of initial system-wide service line plans, planning and managing the acquisition and integration of the former Hospital of Saint Raphael. She also worked on the conceptualization and initial planning for the Center for Clinical Neurosciences at the Saint Raphael Campus.

Prior to joining Yale New Haven Hospital, Gratton worked for Bombardier and IMS Health as an Internal Consultant, where she conducted program risk assessments as well as market and financial analyses of new business line acquisitions.

Outside of her professional role, she enjoys spending time with her husband, children, cats and friends. 

Yollanda London, MPH

Yollanda London was born in Guyana and raised in Jamaica, Venezuela, and Costa Rica. When she was 14 years-old, she moved to the United States to attend a boarding school in Connecticut. She earned a bachelor of science degree from Southern Connecticut State University and her MPH from the Yale School of Public Health.

After completing the administrative fellowship, she took a role in operations in Yale New Haven Hospital’s ambulatory division. She eventually transitioned to business development with Yale New Haven Health. She continued to broaden her experiences with integrated delivery systems by accepting leadership positions for various healthcare organizations. She now works for Yale Medicine as Director, Strategy and Program Development.

Outside of her professional role, Yollanda enjoys spending time with her family, running and working out.

Lewis Goodrum, MHA

Lewis Goodrum was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Brigham Young University and his master’s degree in Health Administration from The Ohio State University’s College of Public Health. 

Goodrum completed his administrative fellowship training at Yale New Haven Health and supported initiatives in hospital acquisitions, ambulatory care facility planning, patient experience and business development. He is now an associate director of Regional Practice Operations for Northeast Medical Group. He is responsible for all day-to-day operations of 13 medical practice locations, including services of Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Pediatrics, Walk-in, Allergy and Telehealth.

Outside of his professional role, Lewis enjoys spending time with his wife and children, reading, exercising, hiking and participating in sports.   

Jessica Lake, MBA

Jessica Lake was born and raised in Long Beach, New York. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Policy from Cornell University and her MBA in Healthcare Administration from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business. 

Lake completed her administrative fellowship training with Yale New Haven Health and maintained a diverse project portfolio working on the development of clinical programs and the implementation of standard practices across the health system. She is now a director of strategy and operations for Greenwich Hospital. In this role, she participates in operational and strategic initiatives to create and implement new clinical services and sustain and optimize existing programs.

Outside of her professional role, Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband, son and dog Kane.  
 

Adriana Barajas, MHA, MPH

Adriana Barajas was born and raised in San Diego, California. She earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern California, an MPH from the Keck School of Medicine and an MHA from the Sol Price School of Public Policy.

During graduate school, Barajas worked at Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest (PPPSW). Her work was mainly focused on Quality Improvement and conducting family planning research. She was involved in a California demonstration project (HWPP 171) that clarified scope of practice for advanced practice clinicians and changed California law. In her last few years at PPPSW, she was responsible for Operations and Clinical Services Accreditation readiness.  

Barajas’s fellowship at YNHHS was evenly split between the non-COVID and COVID healthcare landscape. She was tasked with managing COVID bed planning at Bridgeport Hospital during her fellowship. She is now the Clinical Operations Improvement Manager at Bridgeport Hospital. In this role, she is the bridge between hospital and system Quality and Performance Improvement initiatives.

She enjoys spending time with her daughter, watching football and soccer and experimenting with new recipes.  
  

Madelyn Kaehler, MHA

Madelyn Kaehler was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota and her MHA from the University of Kentucky. 

Kaehler’s work experience spans clinical and administrative roles in hospitals and long-term care settings. During graduate school, she worked as a graduate assistant for UKHealthcare Chlidren’s Hospital, and she spent the summer interning for Mayo Clinic in the Operations and Administration department. After graduating from Kentucky, Kaehler moved to Connecticut to begin her Fellowship at YNHHS.

 

Outside of her professional role, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exercising, cooking, attending concerts and sporting events and traveling.  

 

Lianne Brown, MHA

Lianne Brown was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from Tulane University and a master’s degree in Health Administration from Tulane University. She also completed the post-baccalaureate pre-medical program at the University of Virginia. 

During graduate school, Brown completed her administrative residency at Tulane Medical Center, focusing on clinical operations and clinical process improvement. She then joined Ernst & Young, LLP as a member of the healthcare PI consulting practice, where her clients included large academic medical centers. She also worked on revenue cycle operations engagements. Immediately prior to joining the fellowship program, Brown co-founded a non-profit pediatric clinic that provides free developmental follow-up care for NICU graduates in central Virginia.

Brown enjoys spending time with friends and family, tutoring for New Haven Reads and is working towards her Pilates instructor certification.

 

Meaghan Tetro, MPH

Meaghan Tetro is from Bristol, Conn. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southern Connecticut State University and a Master’s of Public Health, focused in Healthcare Management, from Boston University School of Public Health.

She has previously worked in various capacities with a number of academic medical centers, non-profit organizations and state governments. Most recently, she assisted in the development of a digital health strategy for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and utilized lean management principles to reduce physician burnout within Massachusetts General Hospital. She worked full-time as the Administrative Assistant for the Center for Regenerative Medicine of Boston University and Boston Medical Center and served as President for the Healthcare Management Student Association while attending graduate courses part-time.

Outside of her professional role, Tetro enjoys hiking, reading, experimenting with new plant-based recipes and listening to podcasts. 

 

Dorothy Alexis, MPH

Dorothy Alexis was born in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in African and African American studies from Duke University and her Master of Public Health in Health Policy from the Yale School of Public Health.

She volunteered as the Director of Finance and Development at the Haven Free Clinic, a student run free clinic at the Yale School of Medicine during graduate school. She also worked at the Equity Research and Innovation Center as a research assistant and was a teaching fellow for the Social Justice and Health Equity course. Upon graduating from her master’s program, Alexis began her fellowship with Yale New Haven Health.

 

Outside of her professional role, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading and discovering new music/podcasts.
