Exercise Program Managagement

cycleUnder HSEEP, exercise program management involves five phases, which are collectively known as the exercise cycle. Exercises executed in accordance with the phases of the exercise cycle lead to tangible preparedness improvements and provide participants with valuable opportunities to practice organizational or jurisdictional response functions.

The five phases of the exercise cycle are as follows:

  1. Foundation
  2. Design and Development
  3. Conduct
  4. Evaluation
  5. Improvement Planning

Mission Possible
The Yale New Haven Center for Emergency Preparedness (YNH-CEPDR) can assist your organization with establishing an exercise program that is compliant with The Joint Commission standards and Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) requirements. Beginning with the definition of clear exercise objectives to scenario design, evaluation and development of an After Action Report,
YNH-CEPDR's HSEEP-certified exercise staff can fulfill all or part of your organization’s exercise needs.
