Yale New Haven International Congress on Disaster Medicine and Emergency Management

This two-day international congress on disaster medicine and emergency management was hosted by the Yale New Haven Center for Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response .
Congress co-sponsors included:

- World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine
Congress attendees learned current concepts, best practices and latest advances in disaster medicine and emergency management from 45 distinguished international, national and regional speakers in parallel tracks over two days.
Within these tracks, Congress sessions focused on international, national, regional and hospital emergency management; lessons learned from recent disasters; clinical disaster medicine; the role of public health in disasters; and hot topics in emergency management. This is a unique opportunity to obtain new information and network with world experts in disaster medicine and emergency management.

Pre congress WADEM workshop
Congress participants attended a special pre-congress workshop on Health Disaster Management Guidelines for Evaluation and Research, held on Sep. 10 and 11 in New Haven.
Sponsored by the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine and the Yale New Haven Center for Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response, this workshop prepared attendees to conduct disaster evaluation and research using standardized terms and principles.
