New Haven, CT—June 8, 2017—Yale New Haven Health, comprising Yale New Haven Hospital, Bridgeport Hospital, Greenwich Hospital and Lawrence & Memorial and Westerly Hospitals has been named as a 2017 winner by Forbes Magazine as one of “America’s Best Employers”.

Seventeen Connecticut companies, led by healthcare providers and insurers, were named to Forbes magazine's 2017 list of the best large companies in the nation. The "Best Employers" list features 500 companies with more than 5,000 employees. Yale New Haven Health System ranked highest among the CT companies, coming in at number 57.

“As one of the largest health care systems in the United States, our efforts have consistently focused on providing the highest quality care to our patients and their families,” said Kevin Myatt, Senior VP and Chief Human Resources Officer, Yale New Haven Health. “At the center of these efforts are our dedicated employees who are committed to excellence and patient-centered care. We strive to create and cultivate a work environment that rewards our employees for their dedication and supports them as they continue their professional journey through personal and professional growth. This recognition by Forbes helps to further solidify our position as a preeminent employer in our industry."

Forbes' partnered with online statistics provider Statista to choose 500 employers across 25 industries, which range from large corporations to government agencies. It’s based on a survey of more than 30,000 workers of companies with more than 5,000 employees who were asked how likely they were to recommend their employer to someone else. Forbes' independent study, which surveyed more than 30,000 individuals in the U.S., measured how likely employees would be to recommend their organizations on a scale of one to 10. The respondents were then asked to name additional organizations in their industry they believed to be great employers.

Other Connecticut-based employers that made the list include: Sikorsky, Yale University, Charter Communications and Pitney Bowes.
